(This is a Works-For-Me Wednseday Tip.)
I always have plenty of sticky notes and notepads by the phone. I also have a pack of pens in a cup on the desk. You’d think that would be sufficient.
Nope!
I have sticky notes everywhere - even found one under the table when cleaning up. Once I found one on my doggie’s tail!
And all those notebooks? I think I’ll always remember which notebook I put which messgae in. But nope again.
So I decided a new tactic was in order.

Just because you’ve read something a bunch of times, doesn’t mean you really know it. Last week part of my Old Testament homework was to read Exodus and Leviticus. No sweat - I’ve read both dozens of times (at least) throughout the years.
I was confident that I could pass any test on it. So when I came to this site about reading the Old Testament, I embarked here and here on the test-taking advernture with confidence.

Reading blogs is one of my hobbies. Okay - it might be the only hobby I am currently engaed in. I also like to share the good ones. A look at my growing blogroll will attest to that.
Now you can share your favorite ones too. There’s a bloggy competition going on. Go on over to One Woman’s World to see the details for nominating women for 10 categories.
GO today. The nominations are closed at midnight tomorrow.

My stats say I’ve written 160 posts and have almost 500 comments.
Since my sista talks about contests on her site, let’s talk about one here. Just for grins, let’s say the person who posts the 501st comment wins something.
The winner will be memorialized on this site and receive a cake in a mug kit. Any other ideas?
So the 501st commenter wins. Let the games begin.

Hurray - she’s officially joined the blog world!
Jenny went from a photo blog to one with words! Take a look at her cool content.
- She has a review about a media site that photographers, journalists, and videographers contribute to.
- Jenny’s “Giraffes in Sepia” exhibit some of her creative talent. She also tells you where you can go to visit giraffes in the wilds of CA.
- Jenny loves photo contets as a way to enhance her skills. She’s even won. To get you started, she offers a round up of six photo contests you can enter.
- Finally, her first post is a photo taken in Pacific grove, CA.
You just HAVE to go there, stay awhile and leave some comments. And I’m not just saying that because she’s my sista.

Help! I have got to get “family-style” cooking out of my head. I’ve learned that for some food, I just don’t want lots of leftovers. So over the weekend I searched high (on the internet) and low (actual books) for recipes for one or two people.
Below is my menu. Some of the recipes* are below. Some recipes I’ll post after I’ve tried them or give you an update. For more Menu ideas check out I’m An Organizing Junkie.
- Monday: Baked potato with beans, broccoli, ham, and cheese; green salad
- Tuesday: Crockpot chicken* and applesauce.
- Wednesday: Spaghetti and meatballs (meatballs are frozen from several weeks ago); salad.
- Thursday: Minestrone soup and biscuits for two. (I’ll let you know how this turns out.)
- Friday: Shepherds Pie
- Satuday: Chicken and Veggies in a foil packet.*
- Sunday: Leftovers.

Not to brag or anything but five delights came my way today . .
- Information - I’ve lost 23 pounds! The drinking has really helped me.
- Girl Time - I spent the afternoon with one of my “Jean” nieces. Two nieces have my middle name (Jean). It was a grand time of watching The Tangerine Bear and making Mac & Cheese (her fav) and cake in a mug. (She was astounded at my genious!) Then we went shopping at JoAnnes to spent her gift card. Spending a gift card while fun, is also very serious business.
- Encouragement - In the form of 2 Peter 1. I LOVE listening to this on the Biblegateway.com site. I’m up for abundant grace and peace, and tips for godliness and effectiveness. I’ve probably heard it 25 times by now. I even have a small inkling to memorize this chapter. (I’d have a huge inkling if my memory skills were intact.) For now, I’ll just keep reading and listening to it.
- One of my favorite smells - just fallen rain on cement! My “Jean” niece likes that one too! I think it rained for only 2 minutes - long enough to leave behind its incredible perfume.
- Time with God and the kirk - I love Sundays. I love worshipping God with the Church. I love hearing His message through the many people I meet that day. Pastor’s sermon on the Treasure Principle is right what I need to be hearing - naturally.
What delighted you today?

Ever have a day when a “bad” evening is actually a step up from your “horrible” afternoon”? When you realize that you are just “clueless”? Yeah, me too.
Read this and you’ll feel better.
Now read the following for some truth.
“For those who love God, every day is a good day (Rom. 8:28). It may not look like a good day, or feel like it; but when God is working His plan, we can be sure of the best.
“It is when we fail to trust Him or obey Him, when our love for Him grows cold, that life takes on a somber hue. If we walk in God’s wisdom, we will enjoy His blessings” (The Bible Exposition Commentary by W. Wiersbe).
I’d like to walk in God’s wisdom. How about you? What do you think that means anyway?

Mrs. Wilt is daring us to beat procrastination by making our intentions public.
Here’s my list and if I fail will someone hang me by my toes?
- Read 4 chapters in The Case for Progressive Dispensationalism by Robert Saucy - start paper.
- Read pp 131-169 in Integrative Theology by Gordon Lewis - start paper.
- Investigate I Corinthians 2:1-16 and 2 Peter 1:12-21. Write paper.
- Read Exodus 21-40.
There’s more, but I’d be thrilled to accomplish this.
BTW - a few prayers from y’all would be appreciated too. :-0
