History Channel + Achievement = Props
.
The History channel website has lost of interesting bits and pieces. For instance, I just learned that the ancient Roman cohorts were the world’s finest police force. There is further info about ancient Rome, the 7 Wonders of the World, Underwater Cities, and more. History is soooo interesting.
Here are some Achievement quotes I like from ThinkExist.com:
- Four steps to achievement: Plan purposefully. Prepare prayerfully. Proceed positively. Pursue persistently.” William Arthur Ward quotes (American dedicated scholar, author, editor, pastor and teacher)
- “Spectacular achievement is always preceded by unspectacular preparation.” Robert H. Schuller quotes (American Reformed Church Minister, Entrepreneur and Author, b. b.1926)
- “Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.” Napoleon Hill quotes (American author, 1883-1970)
- “The most splendid achievement of all is the constant striving to surpass yourself and to be worthy of your own approval.“ Denis Waitley quotes (American motivational Speaker and Author of self-help books. b.1933)
- “Our achievements of today are but the sum total of our thoughts of yesterday. You are today where the thoughts of yesterday have brought you and you will be tomorrow where the thoughts of today take you.” Blaise Pascal quotes (French Mathematician, Philosopher and Physicist, 1623-1662)
The Props portion of this entry is exciting – at least to me. My dear daughter (dd) is negogiating with the History Channel about making props for a segment (series?) dealing with cavemen. Wouldn’t that be a cool job for an art major at the University of Art Academy in SF? I am so proud of her.
I’ll let you know how this works out.

How exciting! We don’t get the History Channel anymore, but have watched a lot of stuff there since Hubby and I are both history buffs/nerds!
) We always have our nose in some book and 9 times out of 10 it’s historical. Even when I have “brainless” (not a study book) reading it’s usually a historical romance/setting! This is an awesome opportunity for your daughter. Their programs are always high caliber so this speaks volumes for her talent!
