Today Is My 50th Birthday
March 12, 2008
This past week, I’ve been telling you 51 things I want to …do…accomplish…be… by my next birthday. I listed items in the following categories: educational, finances, organize, others, outings, personal, and spiritual.
When I was growing up we always had 1 extra candle on the birthday cake. The extra one was called “one to grow on.” Well, I have a “one to grow one” goal.
Today’s One to Grow On list is . . .
1. Study prayer
What is your One to Grow On item for the year? I’d love to hear it.
GUESS WHAT? I’ve already completed one of the items on my list under educational: Write 1 article series for my blog. I wrote the whole article, broke it down into bite-sized reading chunks, and then scheduled when the posts would become “live.”
Yes, technically it was written before my birthday. But, my list, my rules. SO COOL, 1 down and 50 to go.

Dear Catlady, You are such a surprise stinker. It was a very fun and even productive party. Thanks for loving me as I am.
Doodah, I feel so blessed to have all these birthday songs flung with abandon my way. Thanks for your wishes as well. It means a lot to me.
Well my sista, thanks for the sentiments! I really do FEEL like the much, much older sister now. :-0
Elizabeth, you are being tricky. My guess was that you were “singing” birthday wishes in Swedish. Because of your friend Molly. Babelfish didn’t help too much. Well, not at all really. Thanks for letting me know, last night, that it is Swedish.
Tonia, Thanks for the birthday wishes. I’m 2 days into my new year and it already has had some surprises and joy.
