August Declutter Challenge – Summary Week 2 (Desk Area)

.

This week I focused on cleaning up my desk area. I am not done, but have made good progress.

Day 8: I threw away: 2 dead calculators, 2 dead AA batteries, 5 Q tips, handful of rubber bands, and 1 plastic necklace.

Day 9: I threw away: 2 expired coupons for a free See’s Awesome Walnut Square Bar and articles I had torn out of magazines. Unfortunately because I was not organized I missed out on using these coupons. This is not the first time I’ve missed out on something because of my disorganization.

Day 10: Recycled an HP Printer.

Day 11: I recycled: 3 phone books and a card.   I threw away: List of movies I want to see, envelopes and mail I read.  I returned: library books and a rented video.

Day 12: Found 2 used inkjet cartridges and pile of canceled stamps. I gave them to my church for 2 different fundraisers.

Day 13: Sorted and tidied the massive pile of notepads, sticky pads and  scratch pads. Sent the “E” sticky note pad to my favorite “E” person.

Day 14: Cleaned out containers that held a wide assortment of stuff on my desk. I threw away: 2 mini correction pens, 4 ink tops, 1 rubber band, 1 pen, 1 gnarly-broken pencil and 1 cough drop.

To See how I did Week I, go here.

There are still 2 more weeks left to this challenge. For the next week declutter one thing from your home each day and write up a blog post. Link to Mr. Linky. Go here to read in detail what the requirements are.

    Susan, GREAT JOB

I’m doing a Virtual Organising Seminar today so I’ll be working alongside the people seeing what ELSE I can throw out.

There are a couple of files I know I will go through but I can’t WAIT!

Forgetfulone – Yes, it is great.

Amanda – Thanks, I am proud of myself (in a good way) :-)

Marcia – Your seminar sounds awesome. Someday I hope to take it. Going through files is definitely something I’ll need to do some day.
