Fav Websites Meme: I’ve been tagged by Doodah
Like Doodah said there are some websites that are just plain obvious:
- Wikipedia: Sure could have used this article while in Jordan. None of us foreign girls knew how to use a bidet. All the home girls said, “You’re on your own to figure this out. Experiment.” I never experimented.
- Google: As I said in this post, “I can’t think without Google.”
- Amazon: I buy all my school books here. Recently I bought some yummy cookies from Amazon.com that I saw being made on tv. One of my nieces liked them so much she’s asking for a box for her upcoming birthday!
- And of course, Eons, an oldster’s equivalent of MySpace. I learned about this site last August. While I am not yet 50, I was allowed to join. Not that I have done anything with my page. But I’ve got some time to spruce it up before that birthday. And then “I’ll be loving life on the flip side of 50.” (Yeah, I don’t know what that means either.)
I have a hard time thinking for myself. I’m a much better follower. So here are some websites I think 4 of you would pick as your favs.
1. I think Weather Girl’s choice would be weather.com if she spent time on the internet. “You enter [your] Zip Code and see the weather predictions for the next ten days courtesy of The Weather Channel. It’s easy and it’s free!” Oh my, she’d be in a constant state of estatic bliss if she has access to this one.
Don’t know who Weather Girl is? Here are some hints.
- At retreat, she did a great ad lib weather show at 1 a.m. with sista, Blondiewith4 and me. Sista recored it on her phone, but alas, I think its been deleted.
- Not only does she know about weather, she also knows directions and travel facts.
2. Lynette is an easy pick too. She’s the one who’s always debunking or confirming those emails we get that claim the fantastical. Don’t know about snopes?
The top story for August 24th is square watermelons at $83, whereas, normally-shaped ones range from $15-$25 a piece on the ever-inventive island of Japan.
True or False. The answer is ….
3. Catlady’s site just has to be The Food Network. Some good stuff here. My current Racehl Ray recipe is Croque-Madame with Sauce Mornay. (Well, I made mine with bechamel sauce).
4. Since I’ve mentioned sista a few times, I just have to share what I think would be ONE of her fav sites. (She is very multi-talented, you know). Sista is constantly checking out the newest fads, trends and inforamtion in the religious world. Well, Larknews (PG 13 at times) could fit that bill.
This article about virtual pastors gives you more than enough to slurp on. Just think of the savings to the congregation (no more raises or bonuses to fuss over) and to the pastor (no more weariness or time-management issues).
I just read Small Group Survivor. Evidently, it’s not a good trend to emulate. I’m so glad one of reteats ditched the I’m a Survivor theme and went with Extreme Makeover Christian Edition.
OK – enough titilation for one post. You’ve been tagged to name your favorite websites. Go here for the original directions. Or here to see Doodah’s answers.

Wow I’ve never heard of Eons before 😛 maybe when I get older someone will introduce me to this site 😛 as for the bidet, I think there are two types of bidets? I’ve only used the spray-type and even bought one at home : http://products.mercola.com/toilet-bidet/ The first time I’ve used this is when I was in Asia because some of the toilets have these instead of toilet paper.

Hi Cindy,
Thanks for visiting. I am over 50 now and I still haven’t gone to Eons. This blog and Facebook keeps me more than busy enough. 🙂
Now that you mention it I do remember Dr Mercola recommending a bidet. Thanks for the info.
