What If The Wholesome Words Were Bleeped?
You know how in shows on TV where all the obscene words are bleeped out?
What if in life all the wholesome, godly or even neutral words that came out of our mouths were bleeped instead?
Would our life be a silent testimony?
Or a huge wake-up call as to what’s truly in our hearts? And what the people around us are hearing/seeing from this Temple of God?
Please pray that I am conscious of this. I’m not troubled with using swear words. But I do want to speak “only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29).
My sista and I were talking a bit about this the other day and I’ve been thinking on this.

Susan, the first thing that popped into my mind was that if the wholesome words and/or neutral words were bleeped, it would be the first time in my Uncle’s life that he would be speechless! LOL It’s not funny, but sometimes with family you have to laugh or cry. The Lord has been convicting me on this in the last little bit. I have noticed that some things I say are not necessarily bad but are also not always necessary. My Grandma told me that when the kids would come rushing in to tell their mother (my Great Grandma) something horrible or awful they had seen or heard, she would stop them in their tracks and tell them not to tell her. It wasn’t that she had her head stuck in the sand to avoid the real world, but she told them that when they repeated things like this, it was the bad things that stuck in your mind. I have thought of that so many times.

Theresa,
Your GG was a wise woman, bad things do tend to stick in my mind.
That is a bit funny about your uncle. It sure would shock him, if it happened for a day.
I think it would shock me, if it happened to me for a day. That could be an interesting experiment to keep track of what/how I speak for a day.
