What Are Your Life Lessons?

. at . 4 comments

You’ve all seen these lists. They include pithy thoughts like, “In 3 words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. It goes on.” Robert Frost.

This is good. And it is applicable. But . . . .

  • What if I actually thought about my life and came up with my own list of things I’ve learned?
  • How many could I come up with?
  • Would I be able to express who is responsible for teaching me that?

Stu Gray from The Creative Mouthpiece has done just that. Click here to read the 33 things he’s learned in the past 33 years. I think this is a very thoughtful list.

I’m not going to think about Stu’s list too much. Not until I’ve come up with my own list. I wonder if I’ll be able to come up with 10 things, much less 50!

What are some things you’d put on your list. Who did you learn it from?

Good post. Challenges me to come up with my own list with an example from my life that backs up each lesson learned & did I really learn it, or am I still learning it. I would imagine the list could be broken down into catergories: Me & who I am, Spirtitual matters, mothering, being a wife, friend, director & owning a dog!
Off to ponder the rampage of thoughts that your post is challenging me to.
    Have a great day!

Great idea. I just got done reading my friend’s 33 things list about herself. I think the greatest life lesson I’ve learned is to follow my life verses Pr 3:5-6. And akin to this would be not crossing my bridges before I get to them or I’ll have to pay the toll twice (CS Lewis) and sometimes God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers (Garth Brooks LOL).

Thanks for the link on your blog!

The idea originated for me from Eric Zorn’s blog ‘Change of Subject’ – Here’s the Link

Lynette – great idea about the categories. That would make it easier for me to come up with what I’ve learned.

Theresa – Good 3 lessons. I’ll have to add them to my list as well. Isn’t it something how God can teach us a lesson from the most surprising sources sometimes?

Stu – Thanks for letting us know the creator of the idea. The link didn’t go through, but here is a link to Eric’s work. http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/
Some good stuff there. I’ve added him to my google reader.
