Friday’s Fave Five for June 10
I love the end of the week since I take time to think about and write down 5 blessings that occurred the previous 7 days.
- Going to Women’s Retreat this weekend. Everything is finished thanks to the TEAM (notebooks, badges, etc) and I feel well enough to attend. I even decorated a pail for the Make It contest. I will share photos next week.
- Blog clean up. I was bothered by all the stuff on my side bar, so I deleted my blogroll and added a Places I Visit Page at the bottom of the banner with the blogroll info. I had 4 pages of draft posts. Why??? I went through quite a few and deleted enough of them to only have 3 pages worth. I had no technical difficulties and feel good about the clean up.
- Music makes me happy. In getting ready for retreat, I got to
I spent a couple of hours listening to possible choices. At the end I felt happy, content, and encouraged.
pick the music for Friday night. We’ll have this song played during the intro of the evening: “Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns. Here’s the worship packet: “Awesome God” by Rich Mullins,“In Christ Alone” by Stuart Townend & Keith Getty, “The Power of Your Love” by Lincoln Brewster, and “Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)” by Chris Tomlin.
- Frozen yogurt is my dessert of choice. I am going through a frozen yogurt phase. I love trying the new flavours. The newest one I tasted is Cake Batter. And yes, it tasted like cake batter. I added Peanut Butter and Belgium Chocolate to my cup and , mmmmm, deliciousness ensued.
- I woke up Wednesday morning with no pain. That hasn’t happened since I broke my shoulder on April 16, 2011. The physical therapist says one reason my arm hurts upon waking is because there has been a lack of circulation during the night. I don’t know what no pain means , but I am looking forward to more such mornings.
Want to share a blessing with us? Do so in the comments or write a post and link up at Susanne’s meme, Friday’s Fave Five. Or if you want to read what other’s put on their gratitude list go to the same link.

I love your song choices. They are some of my favorites! I hope and pray that your shoulder will be completely healed soon. Have a blessed time at the Women’s Retreat!
P.S. I think you left a comment on my blog indicating that you’d like to join 21 Days of Prayer for Sons. I’m unable to add you to the group unless you’re my friend on Facebook. I sent you a friend request (I’m “Fruit Bearer” on FB).

Waking up without pain is a huge blessing, I know what that is like! And how wonderful that you feel well enough to go to retreat.
I love frozen yogurt too and would eat it every day if it weren’t for the price. . .

Yes, Brenda, the price is a deterrent to me too.
I plan on enjoying retreat although I will be very cautious regarding my surroundings. I was packing up my backpack and remembered that the last time I used it was on that fateful day I broke my shoulder.

No pain? That is SO awesome! Music makes me happy, too — and the same music that makes you smile. Neat.

Thanks, Laura. It was a great weekend and the week was good too. Although last week was full of recovering from women’s retreat, starting back to work (full-time), and doing even more physical therapy exercises at home.

In Christ Alone is one of my favorite new hymns and Townend and Getty are two of my favorite artists. Enjoy your retreat! Will you have frozen yogurt there?

Hello Willow – lol. I didn’t think about frozen yogurt even once while at retreat. probably because my gallbladder wasn’t feeling too great. I don’t know what other songs Townend and Getty have written. I will have to do a youtube search.

I LOVE all those songs too, Susanne. I decided to go with songs that I LOVED and hoped the others would get refreshed by them too. I am so happy to report that that was the case.

It is nice to get a blog cleaned up some times. Often I don’t even notice certain things then one day I’ll go on a frenzy. My housecleaning is like that, too. 🙂
I haven’t had frozen yogurt in ages. Thanks for reminding me about it.
Hurray for no pain!

Barbara – lol. My housecleaning is like that too. This week my food love has been smoothies. They are almost like frozen yogurt but cheaper and maybe even healthier.

Thanks for the compliment about my blog, Catherine. My sister put together the banner. I am trying to slimline my categories list. I hope you get to go to a retreat soon, even if it is a solo one.

I’m glad your shoulder has healed enough for the pain to be gone. A retreat with uplifting music sounds refreshing. And you were able to be blessed by the preparation, too, by thinking and anticpating the ahead of time.

Yes, Cathie, I really do like the prep time for almost anything. During the preparation time almost anything is possible. And thinking of possibilities is energizing to me.
