These Blessings Are Not Disguised: My FFF
List your five favourite blessings from the week on your blog, on Facebook, or in the comments. Go to Susanne’s place, Living to Tell The Story to link up or read what others have written.
Here are my five faves.
1. I decluttered my bookcases and gave away 4 bags of books. It was hard and it was rewarding to give away these books. I am in earnest about paring down what I own. I want to make room in my life for whatever adventure comes up next.
2. I did a review on what I’ve done so far on my Winter Bucket List. I don’t normally accomplish so much. It has been a blast. Writing these seasonal lists, looking at them, and then doing some of the activities has made me be more aware of my surroundings and the people in my life.
3. I was part of a pattern testing group and made this cute double wine tote. Since I made it for my son, I did not add flowers. I am thrilled with how it came out. And it was quite fun to make especially since a friend and I visited while making it. You can buy the pattern here.
4. I’m still drinking my green smoothies. It has been a consistent 26 days. Today I even bought a bag of Southern Greens Blend. It has greens like collards, mustard, and turnips. These greens are new food-territory for me. I am feeling more brain energy and I’m thrilled that I am finally getting an adequate amount of vegetables into my diet.
5. My brave “Little Man” is still not feeling well. We’ve been to the vet again and had a phone consult. Chip is now on a narcotic pain medication which causes him to NOT want to eat. Unless something miraculous happens, Chip is days, maybe weeks, away from death.
So why is this on my FFF? I am grateful for the memories we’ve shared. And I am especially grateful that I’ve been able to spend time with him every day just cuddling. We start our day and end it in close contact. I Love you, Chip.

Hurray for you decluttering. Did you know that I’m the declutter queen? (sadly, my house doesn’t look so much like a minimalist’s home, but I keep at it)
You are inspiring me to keep at the green smoothies. I usually make a couple a week, but I really should step it up. Do you have recipes to share?

I will post some of my green smoothie “recipes,” Willow. I will let you know when I do so.
I mainly add a handful of this and that, but I have been writing down what I put in so I can remember what combinations I like best. I do know that I DO NOT care for broccoli in my smoothies.

Congratulations that you found the courage to declutter, I would need that too.
I hope your “Little man” will get better and stay a little longer with you. It’s always so sad when we have to say good bye forever.

Oh Susan my heart breaks for you and your Chip. Take lots of time to just snuggle with him and love on him. Praying for him and you. {{{Hugs}}}
Wow, applauding your strength to get rid of 4 bags of books. That is hard for me! Last year I finally got real with myself though and pared down my book shelves. Realistically some of the books were such fine print I know I’d never tackle them again so why keep them? But it was still tough.
Brain energy? I think I need to drink those smoothies.

Decluttering books is on my list this week, too. But you’ve inspired me to take it even further.
I love the idea of season bucket lists!
Sending good thoughts for you and Chip.

So sorry about your pup. I know, it is hard to say goodbye to our furry friends.
Decluttering anything always feels good – even when it’s hard to get rid of some of it.

aw…so sorry to hear about your little dog! he’s a cutie!!
Yay for decluttering..that’s always a fave with me too! You asked about the movies from netflix: i saw Billy Elliot and LOVED it except for all the swearing….and then I previewed a movie for my 13 yr old daughter called A Father’s Choice. It was EXCELLENT!! she’ll probably watch it this weekend…..I”m finding that I’d rather spend my time blogging or reading so won’t be watching many movies THIS weekend! lol….

I feel your pain – it’s very hard to give up books, but it’s rewarding, too. We had to give up several when we moved due to fewer bookcases – had to leave behind two built-in ones.
I should probably try a seasonal list. I do tend to get more done with lists.
I’m so sorry about your doggie. Ours just passed away in December. It was comforting to go over some of those memories.

I’m sorry to read about Chip, but that is the best way to face grief. To be thankful for the moments you have, not sad about the ones you won’t. I know there will be some painful moments ahead, but how sweet that you have the chance to cuddle now.
I just did some paring down in our closets. I do need to week out the bookshelves, but it is so hard for us. We all love our books so much! Congratulations on your great work! and that wine tote is very nice, too!
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Once again, I am so impressed by your list. I love the idea of paring down material goods, and I’m trying to do that too, although it is challenging. I am sorry to hear about Chip! How long have you had him? What a cutie. I hope he recovers; he sounds like such a sweet companion.
I REALLY missed you at church today! I needed my girl. Hope all is well with you.

Chip has been with our family for nearly 18 of his 20 years.
I am sorry we did not see each other. If you don’t see me, it probably means I am in the cm building, most likely in the nursery (these days).
I will call you.
