Friday’s Fave Five – Last One in March

This Friday’s Fave Five leads up to Easter, Jesus’ most loving FFF daisiesand miraculous moment.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

I am grateful to Jesus for the following: forgiveness, a life purpose, and an eternal home.

“The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ came to do three things. (1) He came to have my past forgiven, (2) [gave me] a purpose for living and (3) and [bought me] a home in Heaven,” (Rick Warren).

I am also grateful for the following events that occurred this past week.

One. Meeting new family. I celebrated (a belated

birthday) with family in the East Bay. I had the lovely opportunity to meet my daughter-in-love’s aunt (from Chile) and mom (from Chile but lives in VA).

These two sisters were quite patient with my lame attempts at speaking Spanish. They didn’t even laugh when I said, “mas mejor” instead of “mucho mejor.” I was trying to say, “much better.”

Two. Snuggling. Over the weekend I had two snuggling opportunities with my 2-month-old grand daughter. She was soooo alert. And her smiles melted my heart. For some reason most of the family vetoed my idea of buying this pacifier or even this one.

These crosses were made from flour, salt and water. Aren't they precious?

Three. Truth in Art. I love seeing the creations the Sunday School kiddos make that reinforces their lessons. Many thanks to the teachers who add these to the curriculum so that truths stick and are fun to learn.

The directions to make the crosses are here.

Four. Shopping. I don’t care for clothes shopping. It is such a pain to find clothes that match and fit well especially trousers. But after attending my first CAbi party, I now have a new view on clothes shopping. And it was a fun experience.

The preschool class had this to say about Jesus.

Five. Mentoring. Our church just started a 6-month mentoring program for the ladies. I am quite pleased to be part of this. My mentee is quite sharp, motivated, curious, and loves the LORD. So I know being her partner will cause me to grow a BUNCH.

Your Turn . . . Please share what has caused you gratitude this week.

Whata great list of faves! your granddaughter is precious and um…yeah…I can see why her parents don’t want the pacifiers! LOL (my girls HATED them and as a special education teacher i do NOT recommend them..they tend to slow down speech development). if the baby needs to suck, give a teething ring! I’ve never heard of that clothing company….it looks great!! I love the little crosses and miss my girls being little and making all those SS decorations. Have a blessed Resurrection Day!!

  • It so always so great to be with family and friends no matter what the occasion.

Wonderful to see you with your family — especially that really cute little one! Think how much your Spanish would improve with more visits 😉

I love how mentoring not only helps the the person being mentored but in turn causes the mentor to stretch and grow.

Love the family picture! I would not have been able to put that beautiful babe down. And how fun that you were able to use your bits of Spanish.

I am grateful for not (yet) coughing up a lung this week and had several pity-parties. Arg… seriously, it has been interesting to have a friend’s daughter continue to come over twice a week even though we all have this bad flu. She has not gotten the flu which is a tribute to how good her mom is at nutrition, exercise and general good health practices. It’s been a good wake-up call for me to be better at building up mine and my families immune system… and for that I am TRULY grateful.

Susan, it is so fun to see you enjoying Sophia. It will just get better and better as she grows and is able to communicate more.

Oh, I am so happy for you to get the opportunity to spend time with your granddaughter! Enjoy this sweet time in her life.

What an honor to be a mentor! I do believe that this is God’s plan for learning – see Titus 2.

What a special time to be with family and to get to meet your extended family from Chile. I am so happy for you. I loved the pacifiers and am so glad you were vetoed–gave me a good laugh though. What a beautiful granddaughter!
I am so grateful for our family and for our grandchildren walking in the path of the Lord.
I am grateful my foot surgery is behind me and praying for patience. I still have two more weeks of this boot and crutches and NOT driving–getting me down…but the is out and warmer so that helps.
    God Bless
