Friday’s Fave Five: May 17, 2013

FFF daisiesFive faves from this week in no particular order. Link up with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to share your faves.

ONE. HONEY Greek Yogurt. It’s a given that I prefer Greek yogurt. But why didn’t anyone tell me about the honey flavoured Greek Yogurt? Ohhh, such deliciousness.

TWO. BIBLE reading with a friend. A friend and I (Michelle) are reading through the Bible together. This is her first time through it. I LOVE the questions and insights she has. It keeps the reading fresh. Plus we get to have a bit of time to catch up and then end in prayer.

THREE. BED TREATS are done. When we have our women’s ministry retreat, we put together bed treats. It is some sort of “container” that holds a few pieces of chocolate and earplugs. We place them on each bed before the women arrive. Some years they are totally handmade, like the time we sewed pencil cases. Or they might be a heart-shaped tin box which we bought at Michael’s.

FOUR. SWIMMING pool weather. This past week I was able to swim twice at my apartment complex outdoor pool. I am trying to get into better shape before going to India (Late July). The nice thing about swimming as opposed to walking is that I can more easily exercise other parts of the body besides the legs.

Isn't that a cute little cake It started off bigger, but the family great dane decided she wanted to gobble it down. There was lots of screaming in the house for a little while during this walk-by-grab-and eat.

FIVE. Mother’s Day SPOILING. Mother’s Day was filled with pressies, special phone calls, time with the family, a gorgeous lunch, and I even got some work done. It was FUN work though. Why yes, I do have a favourite steak: filet mignon.

Your Turn . . . So tell us what your faves are from this week.

Ooh a lovely Mother’s Day celebration! So glad for you.

Way to go on the exercising – I’ve been at it too.

Those bed treats sound like such a nice touch for your retreat.

    Happy weekend!

oh you had such a nice Mother’s Day! LOL about the steak….me too! LOL….how special those bed treats sound. I haven’t been on a women’s retreat in a LONG time!! There was one this weekend but my college gal is due home any time now (is about 4:40 pm here and the latest text said their ETA was 5:15!!!) and I want to spend her first weekend home for the summer with HER! yup…you’ll have to come back to my blog next week to see what the surprise is. I was gonna post it but it involves my oldest and I didn’t know if she’d see it…she sometimes reads my blog when her college workload isn’t too bad. LOL……Enjoy your weekend and I hope you get some more swims in!!

Bible reading with a friend sounds like such a good idea. Our pastor is preaching through the Bible, and we’re reading the chapters ahead of Sunday, which is nice, too. Love the bed treats idea. You have such a servant spirit! Have a great week.

Even if we would have an outdoor pool, no way to swim, it’s far too cold !

Your mother’s day sounds like it was nice and special! The cake story cracked me up.

Outdoor swimming already? Wow. And way to go taking advantage of it. I used to love swimming for that very reason too.

How fun reading through the bible with a friend. It does sound like you two are having some good discussions.

Yum — yogurt and honey is lovely. Try some plain Greek yogurt with real maple syrup some time. It’s one of my favorite combinations. The reading together through the Bible is a great way to stir discussion. Glad you are doing it with Michelle.

Sorry about your cake, but those screaming moments in a house are always kind of funny! Sounds like a good week!

It’s great you are reading the Bible through and with a friend.
Looking back, the Great Dane eating the Mother’s Day cake episode will be long remembered and laughed about.
