Fridays Fave Five – Week 5, 2014

FFF birds on a wireYikes, it’s Friday. This week flew by. But I am making time to list five of my faves from this past week. To read others’ lists or to write your own list, join our host, Susanne, here.

One. I finished my 21 Days of Tea and I now know what my favourite teas are. 2 tied for first place. English Breakfast (always makes me feel “ahhhhh” relaxed) and Honey Vanilla Chai (most delighted my senses). I knew that English Breakfast would win. This chai was a surprise.

Two. I did some baking last week. First I figured out which recipe was my favourite one to bake in a teacup. And I baked Earl Grey cookies. Some I frosted. The Tea cakes and cookies went so well with tea.

Three. I crafted THREE times last week. I decoupaged an “Eyes on You” glass mug. I glued together a teacup birdfeeder. Finally I made a mini teacup pincushion. Crafting brings me peace and joy. Unfortunately I don’t do it often enough.

Look who I found staring at me when I finished my drink!

I love the mini tic-tac-toe gaem.

See the mini tic-tac-toe game. Red won.

Four. Our Wednesday night small group is on chapter six (out of 12) of Created for Community. We discussed Jesus’ Mission in the Divine Program. We grappled with some new ideas and some of these ideas were hard to understand. However, these 2 sentences by the author put everything into perspective: “Ultimately, we cannot understand the full meaning of the cross of Christ. We can only stand in silence before it, acknowledging its wonder, and submit to its power” (Grenz, 137).

Five. Northern California has been in a drought. January is usually rainy, rainy, rainy. But it has been warm (70’s) and DRY. Hurray, it rained two days this past week!!!! We still NEED much more, but this is a great start.

Your Turn . . . List at least one of your faves from this past week.

I too like Earl Grey, with a little honey and milk. 🙂 I like your tea cup craftings! so cute. The mid-west has been in an extreme deep freeze most of this winter. It has been many many years since it has been this cold for this long. And as much snow as we have had in a lot of years.
The Cross message is definitely a hard one. Our human minds just can’t wrap around that much love! But I like this quote you gave. I just stand in awe of Him and what He did for me! Thanks for sharing here today! I had a great visit!

Glad you got some much needed rain!

I like pretty teacups but not hot tea – I know that’s weird. 🙂

Your crafts look neat. I’ve had some other things I had to get done this week, but I am hoping to do some crafting next week.

I LOVE teacups…and my oldest daughter is starting to take after my mom (her grandma) and is starting to collect them. BUT…i do NOT care for many hot teas…..I”m totally a coffee drinker although I did try a tea last winter that I enjoyed (Cinnamon Apple Spice) and I like Throat Care tea when I have a sore throat. It’s an herbal tea and very good for colds. The crafts sound fun! I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

Here’s to believing for more rain. 21 teas in 21 days. Sounds like a delicious experiment. I tried some new to me teas last year and found I really like vanilla coconut. Think I’ll go make some now.

Oooh, I like your tea test very well. And testing tea accompaniments? Too much fun 😉

What a great lesson to learn, even if concepts are challenging to grasp. Good for all of you who kept at it.

As for rain, some of it even made its way down to So Cal! More please!

Glad you had some rain – drought is awful. I’ve heard that some Californians are carrying umbrellas to remind them to pray.

I really liked your teacup crafts.Playing my harp and piano gives me a lot of peace and joy.

    A good quote!

Hurray for the rain! :o) I favor Earl Grey, so those cookies sound delightful, especially on a rainy day. Glad you are enjoying your book study.
