Fall Bucket List Update – September 2015

i cannot believe this turned out so CUTE. I keep staring at it! Is it silly that I am proud of myself?
I REALLY enjoy thinking about and writing bucket lists. See my Bucket List Index here. Occasionally, I get around to finishing the lists – but not too often. Sooooooo – this year, I am going to do an update each month of Fall and report on my progress or lack of progress.
My original list is here. Below is just my September 23-30 list.
Watch Les Mis with the PEP group (ages 55+) from church. We did this on the 29th. This movie was part of our 5th Tuesday Movie series. We are watching movies that are the faves of our Pastor Mike. This is the 2nd time I have seen Les Mis. It made just as much impact on me as the first time. Of course I needed tissues. . . . . . Our first 5th Tuesday movie was Babette’s Feast. In December we will watch It’s a Wonderful Life.
Your Turn . . . Have you seen any of the above movies? . . . What is a MUST SEE movie in your opinion?
Honour Fall with a Fall Drink – I made this Pumpkin Spice Latte at home. I don’t have a fave Fall drink, but this is pretty tasty. I made it 3 times this week!
- The 1st time I made it as written.
- The 2nd time I added spinach and protein powder. These additions didn’t change the taste although the latte was green instead of orange.
- The 3rd time I added spinach, protein powder, and 1/2 avocado. It looked like green sludge. I kinda grossed out my work mates. And it didn’t taste like a pumpkin spice latte. Next time I will not add the avocado.
Your Turn . . . Do you like Pumpkin Spice Lattes? . . . What is your fave Fall drink?
Decorate – I made this burlap wreath and put it on the door to my office. The video was a little confusing, but I figured it out.
Your Turn . . . Do you decorate for the seasons? I normally don’t. . . . Have you made a new Fall decoration?
Create – The “parts” for the Bed Treats for Women’s Retreat are mostly cut out (thanks to Denise). The Team will assemble them on Tuesday, next week. The items are top-secret until Retreat (Oct 23-25).
Your Turn . . . When was the last time you went on a retreat? . . . Do you have any creative surprises in the works?
Read – As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner. It was a tragic story and a little confusing. Reading Sparknotes alongside helped. I picked this book because it is on the Rory Gilmore Girl Reading Challenge. I have now read 66 of the 339 books Rory was seen reading on-screen. Go here for that list.
Your Turn . . . How many of these books have you read? . . . I miss the Gilmore Girls. Do you? Here is a video of a cast reunion 8 years after it ended.
Gratitude – Write in my gratitude notebook daily. This is happening!!!
Your Turn . . . In these first 8 days of Fall, what have you done that is celebratory, new, fallish, or fun? . . . Share what items are on your Fall Bucket List.
HURRAY! I did 5.5 out of 6 things on my list. I am off to a promising start.
