F is for . . . FINGER Pin Cushion

This is the post, FINGER PIN CUSHION, that inspired my creation. It has the directions and several examples.

My Four Tips & Observations

  1. I had my doubts. I wasn’t sure that the pom-pom would actually hold the pins. But it does!
  2. This is a 12 minute craft – at most! It took me 12 minutes to make this. And that included the time it took me to go to my car to get the supplies and park my car nearer to my apartment.
  3. I had trouble with the elastic. I hot glued the first end of the elastic to the bottle cap. Then I had my daughter help cut and then hot glue the other end. After I was done I found that Nancy (the originator of this craft) had linked to another post that gave more instructions.
  4. I’ll use this on my thumb. The one change I made is to use this on my thumb. It is a more natural way for me to use the pin cushion.

I intend to make several more as gifts and some for my Operation Christmas Child boxes.

“F” is today’s letter. What craft could you do that starts with this letter?

Your Turn . . .

  • Would you use this as a pin cushion?
  • What is the cutest pin cushion you own?

I love this idea! I sew every now and then and I get frustrated easily when I need to look for the pins all the time 😉

now you don’t have to have any more frustration. Gather the few needed supplies, plug in your glue gun and in less than 12 minutes you too will have a cute pin cushion.
I hope you attach a photo when you are done.

If it takes 12 minutes or less then I could probably do it. Thanks for this. It is super cute.

Isn’t it fun when something functional is also adorable? My fave kind of project.

  • What a great idea! As I sew, I am always looking for my pin cushion. Is it on the ironing board? Cutting table? Next to the sewing machine? This is a perfect solution! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
