Friday’s Fave Five August 25th, 2017

“Find the good and praise it.” ~ Alex Haley

That is what I am doing tonight. I am looking over my past week for the good. I am praising it and I am thankful. Join the rest of us here for Friday’s Fave Five.

ONE. Finger pin cushion. I’ve had these supplies and this pinned post for a long time. I finally made it. Even though I crafted for only 12 minutes, it was a satisfying feeling and a useful end product.

One. Upcycled project. My daughter gathered all the “beauty supplies” to one spot. She kept finding tweezers and nails clippers in multiple areas. Instead of putting these in the beauty basket, Elizabeth made a container from an empty, round tube of kleenex. Wahoo for creativity and organization.

THREE. Visited family in Berkeley. I got to spend two days with some of the Berkeley family. We had park time, craft time, cuddle time and lots of talking. Being with them never gets old.

FOUR. Found a charger cord. Somehow I lost my home charger cord for my iPhone. I kept borrowing my daughter’s cord because I didn’t want to buy another one.  I was sure that as soon as I did, I would find the cord. … BUT – while I was taking a walk in Berkeley, I found one in a scattered pile of trash on the sidewalk.

FIVE. Given two 3 tiered-serving stands. Every year we have a Tea during Missions week at my church. And every year we have to borrow 12 of these stands. In January I decided that I would scour thrift stores for some of our own. On Monday one of our volunteers donated these for our collection! We now have six (and four 2-tiered stands).

Your Turn . . .  Share something good from your week.

I live (temporarily) with someone who is HUGE on recycling. So that was a natural project for her to do. And it was especially nice that I benefitted from it.

I love your list — we all definitely need to take more time to focus on the positive and what we can be thankful for. That little pin cushion is adorable!! I’m thankful for coming through a surgery this week with all positive results and for a week with my hubby home to take care of me! Boy I’m thankful for him 🙂

Having a good recovery week with the help of your hubby certainly is something to be thankful for. I hope you have more of the same this coming week, Lauren.

That is the cutest pin cushion. I had no idea Kleenex comes in a round tube. Great idea for upcycling it. Great finds with the charger and the plate stands.

I had no idea either, Susanne, until my daughter gave some to me. I keep one of these tubes in my car in a cup holder,

A lot of things in your life were praiseworthy this week! I especially love that you found that phone cord near a trashcan! How lucky!

Hope this week is just as wonderful for you! 🙂

    With Love,

So true, especially when you can also use up things from the stockpile like pom poms and elastic (although the elastic was from a friend’s stockpile).

You made good use or your time this week–thrift store finds, upcycling, decluttering, a bit of creativity. Family time was the best, though! Your grandgirls are so cute!

Even a small craft project can give us a great feeling of accomplishment. That finger pin cushion is a great idea. I don’t think I have seen round tubes of tissues, but what great containers they make! Good work on finding the serving stands!

Some more things you can do to get twitter followers:
Employ relevant keywords in your bio so you rank in Twitter
search. Be sure to include your city or
region name to entice local users. Find people you know by uploading your email contacts to Twitter.
They are more likely to follow you back,
especially since they know you in real life.

In addition to of course buy twitter followers.

My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net
from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using
Movable-type on various websites for about a year and
am concerned about switching to another platform. I have heard
excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
