Grateful 43 – Things I Do in a Typical Week
Today is the first day of my series, Grateful 43. I will do this for 43 days. Do you see the play on the words 43 and FOR THREE. Some prompts will be light-hearted: I.e. I am grateful 4 3 TV series. And some will be heavy: I.e. I am grateful for three challenges.
Now on to my first gratitude prompt . . . I am grateful for three things I do in a typical week . . .
- Sundays. The best part of my week is Sunday. I love going to church to hear the preaching, to sing, to pray with others, to give hugs, and to visit with folks. And at least once a month I get to go out to eat with the senior PEP 55+ group. And sometimes I even get to take a nap! Each one of these things energizes me in spirit, body and/or mind.
- Prayer. I get to pray with others twice a week: my prayer partner (Thursdays) and with the staff on Tuesdays. I am emboldened, encouraged, and refreshed by such group prayer. My faith, trust and love for God grows as I see HOW God answers. If you don’t pray with at least one other person regularly, don’t delay and start-up this spiritual practice.
- Walk. I walk most nights with my daughter. This is how I make sure to walk 10,000 steps a day. These regular steps are making me stronger, bringing down my blood sugar numbers, and helping me to sleep better. And in addition my daughter and I get to catch up.
