Grateful 43 – Ways I’ve Been Creative
Creativity is important to me. It is how I wind down, recharge, and come up with answers to questions I’ve been pondering. And of course it is fun.
Today’s prompt — I am grateful 4 3 ways I’ve been creative in these last few months.
ONE. Cooking – I came up with a new salad recipe, assembled the ingredients for chia seed jam, and made chocolate extract – 3 different batches to be exact. I’ve also tried several new recipes that support a (mostly) sugar-free, gluten-free menu.
TWO. Writing – I have been on a mission to write every day. I mainly do this by blogging. My favourite part of blogging is to plan what to write. I really love it. Therefore I have a lot of draft posts.
Since June I’ve made a concentrated effort to declutter the draft posts on my blog. I did delete a few drafts, but mainly I’ve been finishing them. From June until September 15th, I’ve published 3-4 posts a week. Of course not all of them are posts that I had previously started. But I am getting back into a daily writing habit.
THREE. Planning/Crafting/Sewing for OCC – These initials stand for Operation Christmas Child. Every year I pack boxes for OCC. This year we have a group (from my church) that meets to sew/craft items for these boxes. Some things haven’t been successful, like sewn notebooks. But most things have been successful like Josephine dolls, dresses, crocheted necklaces, and cloth menstrual pads.
I’ve mainly been involved in planning. Planning is almost the BEST thing I like about any project. But I have been able to help with basic grunt work like cutting. And I made some adorable, finger pincushions.
Your Turn . . . Is creativity very important to you? If yes, how so? . . . What are some ways you’ve been creative? . . . Is there a topic you’d like for me to explore? . . .
I am writing a gratitude series titled Grateful 43. I will do this for 43 days. And I will write three things for which I am grateful 4 each topic. Do you see the play on the words 43 and FOR THREE. Some prompts will be light-hearted: I.e. I am grateful 4 3 TV series. And some will be heavy: I.e. I am grateful for three challenges. Go here for the 43 Days of Gratitude JOURNAL Prompts

That’s an interesting challenge. Thanks for stopping by. I don’t join in with hubby’s record group – I like to listen to music but I’m not obsessed with it like he is. They have a theme for their sessons and everyone brings a record along in keeping with the theme which they listen to and then discuss.

Thanks for explaining the group’s protocol. It is interesting. I wish I had my old collection of records.

Thank you for your sweet comments on my projects! I love this post. Chocolate extract??? You are very ambitious! I love your ideas for OCC — things we wouldn’t think about like the menstrual pads! Creativity is VERY important to me and I try to incorporate it in my home, my blog, my SS class, gifts I give . . . creating makes me calm. If I’m stressed or frazzled and I go to my work room and begin crafting . . . I feel great!

Yes, doing something creative helps me, when I am stressed or frazzled, too. It is like an internal massage! I love how you involve creativity in every area of your life.
