Grateful 43 – Ever-Present Things

Day 21 -Ever-Present Things
Have you ever given much gratitude-thought to the things that are always with you? Today I want to give thought and voice to some of these things.
I am grateful 4 these 3 ever-present things.
ONE. Holy Spirit. When I accepted Jesus as my Saviour, among other things, I received the Holy Spirit, (John 3:5-16).
- He assures me that I am His child forever (Romans 8:16).
- The Spirit teaches me spiritual truths (1 Corinthians 2:13).
- He doesn’t leave me to my own power to tell others about Him (Acts 1:8).
These are just some of the things the Holy Spirit does for me and every Believer.
TWO. Safety. I am surrounded by safety because I live in a safe place.
- Physically – I am not afraid to walk alone in my neighborhood or by my workplace. I am not afraid that war, gangs, or other violence will unpredictably surround me, my work or home.
- Emotionally – I am surrounded by people who are grace-filled, mature, accepting people. And I have learned how to put up boundaries so that I am not unduly influenced by manipulators.
- Spiritually – I attend a church that does not spiritually bully people. Nor is my church into legalism. And I am safe spiritually because I know that God, Himself, is trustworthy. He means me no harm and in fact cherishes me and has a good plan for me.
- Nature-wise – Where I live is safe from natural disasters. I am not afraid that any of the following will impact me: fire, flood, tornado, tsunami, hurricane or earthquake.
THREE. Me. Everywhere I go, I am with me. And I choose to make “me” a positive influence in life (my own and others).
- Experiences – I choose to look at my experiences in light of God’s plan. I know that all that happened to me is allowed by Him and that He makes good come out of it ALL. Therefore I will be one who forgives, is patient, and grateful. Of course this is all an ongoing process and is not easy.
- Memories – Some memories are traumatic. Their power over me is huge and can even change my thoughts and behaviours. However, I believe I can change pain-filled memories into teaching vehicles. Sometimes the message is simply, “I can make it through hard times.” I am grateful for methods like Transformational Prayer Therapy, Talk Therapy, and sharing with wise friends. These methods have helped me to see that God has been with me and that I can cope.
Your Turn . . . Put on your thinking cap. What are 3 things that are always with you for which you are grateful?
I am writing a gratitude series titled Grateful 43. I will do this for 43 days. And I will write three things for which I am grateful 4 each topic. Do you see the play on the words 43 and FOR THREE? Go here for the 43 Days of Gratitude JOURNAL Prompts
