Grateful 43 – Indoor Activities
Day 25 – Indoor Activities
“As we get older, we get better at choosing in ways that will make us happy. We do a better job at picking activities that make us happy, and at spending time with people who make us happy. We’re also better at letting things go.” ~ Sheena Iyengar
I am grateful 4 3 indoor activities.
ONE. Decorating Christmas Trees. I learned to love this because my mom loved it. In fact decorating trees was only part of her Christmas tradition. She loved decorating the whole house and setting up a different (large) Christmas village each year. I am grateful for decorating trees because it is exciting to pick out the theme I will follow. … I love creating something beautiful. … Most of the time, I do this with someone else and so there is an important social aspect. … And I like beautifying the space.
TWO. Cooking with others. I used to love cooking solo. Researching for new recipes and then making them were twin excitements for me. I still love the research (as my Pinterest boards will confirm). But now I prefer to cook with others. I am grateful to be able to learn something new with others. And since I am usually cooking something healthy, my blood sugar benefits, too.
THREE. Napping. In case you don’t know, I love napping. I most especially love napping on a Sunday afternoon. But I will nap whenever I get the opportunity. I am grateful for the benefits that naps bring: afternoon alertness, catch up with sleep when I didn’t sleep well the night before, reverses a grouchy mood, and it feels like a mini-vacation.
Your Turn . . . What indoor activities get your gratitude? Why?
I am writing a gratitude series titled Grateful 43. I will do this for 43 days. And I will write three things for which I am grateful 4 each topic. Do you see the play on the words 43 and FOR THREE? Go here for the 43 Days of Gratitude JOURNAL Prompts
