My Day…so far — Monday, August 27, 2018

It’s time for Monday’s meme. I hope you join us at Simple Amazing Grace.
The date today: – Monday, 27 August 2018
How’s the weather? Currently 58° with a high of 83°, the sky is hazy because of surrounding fires.
What are you wearing? – Plaid pj bottoms with matching salmon coloured top
What chore around the house have you been putting off doing? – Making up my mason jar salads and menu for the week
What are you reading? – Wisdom Psalms (for work) and Lies Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets Them Free Hardcover by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. This second book is for my September book club.
A Scripture verse you’d like to share.
Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes. ~ Psalm 37:7
A prayer request you’d like to share? What a blessing it can be to pray for one another! – That I would seek God’s wisdom and take time to meditate on His Word.
How about a creative project you are working on? One in progress or one still in your head. – Decide on the cake design for a 2-year-old’s birthday. … My daughter and I joined Cake4kids. This is an organization that makes birthday cakes for kiddos in the foster care system and for at risk kiddos.
What special dish or baked item are you planning for this week? – Something to do with zucchini.
Something coming up you’re looking forward to. – Auditioning to read a book for the blind. The audition is this Friday.
Your latest acquisition? – A 2018/2019 calendar from the dollar store. I LOVE to write in them. I don’t always look at them as I most often use my Google calendar on my cell phone.
A photo you’d like to share?

This is most likely the cake I will make for the 2-year-old’s birthday party. This is a practice cake.
A graphic, photo or quote?

I read this in The Art of Neighboring.
Any parting thoughts? – I am not thinking anything very profound this a.m.

Hello Susan!
Love the practice cake and all of the bright colors. A two-year old would definitely like that one!
I’m glad that you make up mason jar salads, too. I haven’t done it very recently but I have in the past and they really are a wonderful way to have a quick lunch to take to work…or eat at home. 🙂
I’ll be thinking of you on Friday when you audtion for reading for the blind. What a blessing you would be to those who are blind.
I love the quote at the end. It reminds me of one that a pastor in NC said one time in a message…his was something like, “We don’t treat people the way we do because of who they are. We treat them the way we do because of who we are.”
Have a blessed week, my friend!
