My Day…so far – August 24, 2018

What a fun way to start a week. This is like doing a time capsule. On Mondays I will link to this meme, My Day…so far.

The date today.
Friday, 24 August 2018 – But in the future I will do this on Mondays with everyone else doing the meme, My Day So Far, at Simple Amazing Grace

How’s the weather?
It is cool (58 degrees) and the high will be 85. It is also cloudy (no chance of rain), a little breezy, and best of all no smell of smoke.

What are you wearing?
Plaid PJ bottoms and a black tee-shirt that says, “What doesn’t challenge you, doesn’t change you.”

What chore around the house have you been putting off doing?
Besides the ongoing work of decluttering, making up my menu for next week and prepping meals for it.

Is there anything in your fridge you need to throw out? What?  Do you even recognize it?
Nope, it is in good shape.

What are you reading?
Wisdom Psalms (for work) and Goliath Must Fall: Winning the Battle Against Your Giants by Louise Giglio

A Scripture verse you’d like to share.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91: 1-2

A prayer request you’d like to share? What a blessing it can be to pray for one another!
That I could write a reasonable weekend To-Do list and accomplish it all by Monday.

How about a creative project you are working on? One in progress or one still in your head. one another!
Buy yellow fabric for two little backpacks and sew them up.

What special dish or baked item are you planning for this week?
Good question and challenge. I’d like to make up (mason) jars of salad for lunches next week. And I’d like to make a stir fry with fresh veggies from my garden and from a friend’s garden.

Something coming up you’re looking forward to.
On Sunday, our church is sponsoring a community breakfast in a shopping center. In addition to breakfast, there will be two bounce houses, games with lots of candy as prizes, a face painter and a prayer booth.

Your latest acquisition?
Two number candles. I want to make a graphic for a post I am writing this week.

A photo you’d like to share?
The eyes in this photo belong to one of my granddaughters. I made this with the Bible Lens app. It is easy to use and free.

A funny graphic, photo or quote?
And keep a sense of humor. It doesn’t mean you have to tell jokes. If you can’t think of anything else, when you’re my age, take off your clothes and walk in front of a mirror. I guarantee you’ll get a laugh.” ~ Art Linkletter. … I like laughter!

Any parting thoughts?
I like this idea of checking in on my week, before it starts.. I like the idea of having a placeholder for some of my thoughts and activities. it is like a time capsule that I can enjoy looking at later in life.
