“Christian hospitality is a matter of obedience to God.”

I think this fits under loving your neighbor as yourself, giving a full measure etc, maybe even the Good Samaritan. Also I think that some people are spiritually gifted with hospitality but that doesn’t let those who are not off the hook. It also brought to mind the verses about one possibly entertaining an angel, unaware. I am reading through the Gospels and am thinking of Peter (dear, impetuous man) and his immediate response on the mountain to set up a tent and make a meal for Jesus, Moses and Elijah. It seems in modern times that we as a culture in the US have become less hospitable as a whole – are we less kind or just too exhausted from overextension and doing everything from our own effort? Glad you are enjoying your class. I wanted to take it but we have too much going on right now. We have been trying to learn to *rest* on Sunday and allow God to restore us for the upcoming crazy week. Sometimes it is hard to be still!

Theresa, “Are we less kind or just too exhausted from overextension and doing everything from our own effort?

Maybe both. I think this culture has also become more me-centered.

It is hard to go out on Sunday night becasue I am tired -especially if I wasn’t able to take my Sunday nap. My Sunday nap is like comfort food to me. 🙂 But I have to say, it has been worht going. Tonight is our last class and I am a bit sad.
