Grateful 43 – Movies

Day 26 – Movies
I am not a huge movie watcher now that my friend Pam has moved away. We used to go to the movies a couple of times a month. That being the case, I still have some favourite movies, albeit they are mainly older ones. Movies teach me something. The following movies taught me helpful things.
I am grateful 4 these 3 movies. . . .
- IQ – This movie stars Meg Ryan (my fave actress), Walter Matthau and Tim Robbins. I have fun memories of watching it with my daughter multiple times. I like that one of the ideas that the Tim Robbins character embraces is to live in the moment. My fave quote is a question Robbins asks Ryan, “When was the last time you said, ‘Wahoo?” “I’m sure I don’t know,” was Ryan’s indignant reply.
- Christmas movies in general – I LOVE CHRISTMAS MOVIES. Here are posts about that topic … Christmas Movies I Watched in 2011 . . . A Charlie Brown Christmas Quiz . . . The Nativity Filled Our Time and Minds. . . . Here are two specific Christmas movies I especially like: A Charlie Brown Christmas and White Christmas. Both of these help me to remember what the Season is all about: Christ and loving others.
- Moana – I saw this with my granddaughter a month ago. I enjoyed watching her enjoy this movie. She danced around the room singing the songs. And then we showed this at our church. Kiddos (and some adults) SANG along, too. . . . This movie portrayed strong messages. . . . Romance-free plot: a girl could be strong all on her own . . . Moana exhibits heroism, perseverance and resilience in pursuing her calling . . . And it has SINGABLE songs.
Your Turn . . . When was the last time YOU said, “Wahoo?” . . . What movies are you most grateful for and why?
I am writing a gratitude series titled Grateful 43. I will do this for 43 days. And I will write three things for which I am grateful 4 each topic. Do you see the play on the words 43 and FOR THREE? Go here for the 43 Days of Gratitude JOURNAL Prompts
